Neem is a wonder plant, and has the most intricate leaves on the planet. Being the member of Mahagony family, neem is rich with more than one hundred and thirty biologically active components. Neem is widely used as an antiseptic as it contains strong elements to fight bacteria and viruses. Being a tropical plant, neem is said to grow almost anywhere in the tropical lowland. Every part of the neem is beneficial according to Ayurveda and this makes it a wonder plant. Along with the leaves, its bark, seeds and roots can be used in various issues such as infections, inflammations, skin diseases, dental disorders etc.

According to a research done by the US National Research Council, Neem could show effects on 200 plus insect species. This includes micro-organisms too. Neem is prominent in ayurvedic manuscripts for having magical effect on the skin. Traditional approaches include crushing the leaves into a paste and applying straight to wounds, abrasions, ulcers or skin diseases. Healing agent

The bark and twigs of neem is rich with polysaccharides. Neem bark extracts can be used for dental infections and as a toothpaste. Chewing neem twigs can improve dental hygiene. These extracts can also repel pests. Neem bark is powdered and used as a healing agent for various diseases.


Cleansing agent

Neem seeds can be used as a cleansing agent. Neem seeds can be dried, crushed and soaked to produce concentrated oil. This can be used in medicines, cosmetics and as a pesticide. Neem seed oil is beneficial for healthy skin, nails, scalp and hair. Applying herbalized neem oil onto the skin can cleanse the skin and nails from inside to outside.


Fights against bacteria and fungi

Neem contains anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. Neem has proved effective against certain fungi that infect the human body. If you consume a certain amount of neem on a daily basis, it will destroy the troublesome bacteria in the intestinal region, and your colon will generally remain clean and free of infection.


Disease resistance

Neem provides immunity power to the body if consumed daily. Its detoxifying effects on the body make it a great immune booster, especially for the cleansing of ama from the body. Neem’s antimalarial activity makes it a better dosage for malaria infections. Diseases caused by bacteria, virus and fungi can be prevented by daily consumption of neem.
